DAWN is a Stevens Custom 42 built in 1988. She was designed by Sparkman &
Stephens and built by Stevens Custom Yachts.
She is a wonderful sea boat carrying her 28,000 lb displacement briskly and comfortably inshore and offshore.
Her accommodations and appointments are commodious for this aging crew of two.

The 1300 nautical mile passage from Norfolk, VA, to Virgin Gorda was our qualifying offshore passage.

Our cruise from Maine included coastwise travel to Hampton, Virginia. We then sailed across 1400 miles of open North Atlantic to Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands, and spent the winter wandering through the Leewards and into the Windwards. Our cruise from Maine included coastwise travel to Hampton, Virginia. We then sailed across 1400 miles of open North Atlantic to Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands, and spent the winter wandering through the Leewards and into the Windwards. In the spring we returned through the British and US Virgin Islands, along the southern Puerto Rican coast before spending several wonderful weeks with friends and family in the Dominican Republic.
The return to the US was via the Turks & Caicos, the Exumas, New Providence Island, and Grand Bahama Island. DAWN was sometimes coastwise and sometimes offshore as she worked her way back to Maine arriving in June.
